Part of my Embers and Turquoise collection, Little Song in Ember Phase explores the quiet, glowing stage of emotion—when feeling exists not as a blaze, but as a soft ember humming beneath the surface. Warm oranges, siennas, and reds drift over traces of musical notation and script, like memories and inner voices that never quite fade. Turquoise dots and looping black lines move through the composition like syncopated notes, while veils of white soften and unify the surface, suggesting breath, heartbeat, and the rise of a half‑remembered tune.
In the context of the collection, this piece marks one emotional state within an ongoing cycle of warmth and coolness, ember and clarity. It pairs naturally with Little Song in Turquoise Phase, together tracing how an inner song can shift colour, temperature, and mood while still remaining recognisably our own.
