Enduring Love is a symbolic floral painting that reflects on the beauty of lasting connection. At its heart is a string of coral peonies chosen for the association with love, abundance, honour, and emotional richness. The spray appears to float on a suggestion of clouds and the softness of the lines and colour evokes a dreamy feel. Woven through the composition at the centre of the larger flower is an infinity knot, symbolising continuity, devotion, and the unbroken nature of deep bonds. Hints of foliage add colour to the cream background without disrupting the floating feeling created by the negative space.
In this piece, I wanted to create something to reflect the gentleness and warmth of a partnership of love that endures a lifetime and beyond.
The work invites the viewer to look beyond the surface of the bloom and consider the hidden meanings held within form, colour, and symbol. As with much of my practice, every element carries intention. The painting becomes not only an image of beauty, but a quiet meditation on love that remains present through time, memory, and change.
