Where Joy Gathers explores joy not as a single moment, but as something that grows through movement, connection and accumulation.
Layered pink and crimson forms sweep through the composition, circling a central structure that hints at a flower without ever fully becoming one. Repeated turquoise marks travel across and between the larger forms, creating a lively visual rhythm, while fragments of white, charcoal and softer colour emerge through the layers.
Created intuitively through gestural painting, repeated marks and partially obscured forms, the work rewards a closer look. Shapes seem to gather, separate and reconnect, allowing the painting to shift between abstraction and suggestion.
