Held in Between explores the quiet space between holding on and letting go.
An unopened orchid bud hangs suspended against an expressive field of blue, while the suggestion of a chain introduces a tension between connection and release. Neither fully restrained nor entirely free, the form occupies a moment of possibility — a state in which what comes next is not yet known.
Drawing on imagery from Trust Reimagined and the atmosphere of Echo of Trust, the work extends the exploration of trust beyond certainty. Here, trust is not passive. It is the willingness to remain present within uncertainty — held between what has been and what might yet unfold.
Held in Between will form part of the evolving Blue Orchid Collection, a body of work dedicated to my father and exploring trust, connection, memory and enduring bonds.
In his memory, 10% of the sale price of every original painting in the Blue Orchid Collection is donated to PancIND, supporting pancreatic cancer research.
