Perseverance Reimagined is part of the Reimagined Virtues collection, exploring human virtues through nature, symbolism and layered colour.
At its centre is the banksia — a plant shaped by an Australian landscape of heat, drought and regeneration. Here, rather than appearing bold or indestructible, it is rendered with an almost fragile luminosity. Hundreds of fine filaments radiate from the flower, emerging from the darker forms surrounding it.
Embedded within the heart of the banksia is the triskelion, an ancient three-spiralled symbol associated with movement, endurance and the continuing cycles of life. It is deliberately subtle: something discovered rather than immediately seen.
The surrounding landscape moves through earthy red, olive, violet and near-black, while small touches of yellow catch the edges of leaves and flower. Darkness remains present, but it does not overwhelm the bloom.
Perseverance Reimagined is not about strength without difficulty. It is about continuing through it — adapting, enduring and finding the capacity to grow again.
