Still Remains explores resilience through the protea, a flower shaped by landscapes where fire is both destruction and renewal.
Emerging from an abstracted, fire-marked background, the bloom carries traces of what has passed rather than escaping them. Its strength lies not in remaining untouched, but in continuing — altered, perhaps, yet still capable of growth.
The work reflects a quieter understanding of resilience. It is not about returning unchanged to what existed before, nor about denying damage or loss. Sometimes resilience is simply what remains: the part that endures, adapts and begins again.
Through layers of colour, texture and fragmented movement, Still Remains holds destruction and regeneration together — a reminder that survival itself can become the beginning of something new.
