"Trust and Tears" is a deeply personal work from my Blue Orchid series, dedicated to my father. Inspired by the rare azure sun orchid native to south-eastern Australia, the blue orchid in this painting embodies trust, honesty, and the preciousness of genuine connection—qualities I cherished in my relationship with him. The petals, rendered in vibrant hues, cradle shimmering droplets of water, each representing tears shed in both sorrow and gratitude.
Through layered symbolism and bold color, "Trust and Tears" explores the beauty found in vulnerability and the resilience of the human spirit. Every element is chosen with intention, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the ways trust and grief are intertwined, and how, even in our deepest losses, we discover hope and connection. This piece is both a personal meditation and an open invitation for others to find their own stories within its colors and forms.
